Founded by Alison Dell, PhD and Irina Ellison, PhD in 2015, Art in the Lab promotes crosstalk between art and science through free public workshops where participants engage in authentic laboratory experiences and create art inspired by interaction with scientific collections.

Biologists by training, Dell and Ellison each hold university level faculty positions as well as engaging their creative practices. Curiosity, inclusiveness and fun are cornerstones that support the atmosphere of the events. We invite everyone to engage with and re-claim science through art.  Events are always free and open to scientists, artists, and the sci/art curious.  Drawing is fun and science is for everyone.
